Diagonal Stripes Scarf

Hello and welcome to Cristina's Crochet. Today we are learning how to crochet this Diagonal Stripes Scarf

Note:
It is worked in Tunisian knit stitch corner to corner.
Start with 3 chains then increase at the beginning and the end of each row until you have your desired width.

ch 3, take 3 loops on your hook, from the back loop of the chains (the spine). Pull trough 1, pull trough 2.To make the shape of diagonal stripes you have to add 2 loops to every row.

The first increase is in the gap between the loop on your hook and the first vertical bar.
The 2nd increase will be in the gap before the last stitch.
As long as we are increasing at the end of the row we pull trough 1 loop, then trough 2.
We are adding 2 loops on each row so you'll have 3,5,7,9 and so on loops on your hook.

I changed color after 7 rows and kept increasing until I had 35 loops on hook.

When you change color don't cut off the previous one. You'll take it back after 7 rows.
Keep increasing until you have the width that you want.

At this moment you only have to increase at the beginning of the row. At the end you skip that gap and pull trough 2 loops from now on.

After a few rows you'll notice the shape.

Once you have the length that you need you stop adding the loop in the first gap and work the row as usual until you have 3 loops on hook. Now we are decreasing so pull trough all 3.
Skip the first vertical bar and insert your hook in the next one

At the end pull trough 3 loops and chain 1.
To finish the scarf add a row of single crochet all around and in the corners make 1sc, 1 ch,1 sc in the same stitch, add fringes and you're done.
